The excitement for what Kellen Moore will do is growing. One of the big storylines for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason is new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Scott Linehan was changed after his scheme was viewed as stale and not taking full benefit of the weapons the Cowboys got on offense. The idea being that will Moore will take the Cowboys unpleasant scheme and perform a refresh. We’ve been trying to track that will as well as we can, first by predicting some changes we might see depending on what Moore ran at Boise State. Then we checked within on some changes with the unpleasant line and wide receivers on OTAs. Finally, we looked at the various personnel combinations that were being noticed at OTAs. Reading through all of that will be an excellent primer as to what is from the Cowboys offense.Dallas Cowboys Discount Gear

We’d prefer to add one more look at Moore, now from another site. Inside the Pylon does excellent work breaking down soccer strategy, schemes – basically everything that an amateur coach would want to read through. They took on Kellen Moore and put together a must read.

These people include this quote from Moore to set the stage of exactly what should be coming for the Cowboys criminal offense.
Our whole goal from another perspective is to make it look since confusing as possible. And at the end during it’ s pretty simple for us. It’ s a lot of the same concepts, it’ s a lot of ways of doing the exact same things.
That goes to everything we’ve been hearing regarding pre-snap movement and different formations plus personnel groupings. But Moore furthermore says that isn’ t simply window-dressing with a bunch of people getting around, it has a purpose besides confusion.
The particular shifts and motions are very particular to each play. There’ t a purpose to why we are doing it. We’ re not just moving and motioning and running individuals all across the field just for the bejesus of it. There’ s a reason. We’ re trying to get an advantage.

Another Inside the Pylon talking stage is about more play-action for Dak Prescott, something everyone has been phoning for. In Prescott’ s amazing 2016 season, the Cowboys utilized play-action the fourth-most in the little league. There is plenty of play-action in the Boise State playbook and Prescott ought to see plenty. Here’ s a fast look at Prescott’ s stats depending on play-action splits.
Through his three-year career, Prescott has been more effective making use of play action than when not. For each Pro Football Focus, Prescott provides completed 68. 2% of their passes with a 111. 6 traverser rating using play action compared to completing 62. 6% of their passes with an 87. 2 traverser rating on regular dropbacks. The good thing for Prescott is that Petersen’ h Boise State offense had a lot of play action designed in it. Which includes rollouts, boots, and waggles such as he performed during his first year season.

They finish up with an additional item that should be music to Cowboys fans ears. Using Prescott a lot more in the run game, especially in the red-colored zone. They note that at Boise State, sometimes they would sub Moore off the field in the red zone to get a more mobile “ quarterback” who had been more effective in the run game. They will need to substitute along with Prescott.
